If you’re in Alabama and trying to find a safe landing for a parrot you can no longer keep, we’d like to help.
Safe Perch Exotic Avian Rescue is a small, foster-based 501©(3) nonprofit headquartered in Cumming, Georgia. We’ve driven into Alabama — Birmingham, Huntsville, and the Mobile area — to bring surrendered birds into our foster network, and we’d consider doing it again for the right placement.
A few honest things up front:
Out-of-state pickups depend on volunteer availability. An Alabama surrender takes longer to coordinate than a local Georgia one. The sooner you reach out, the better we can plan.
We may not be the right fit for every species or situation. When you fill out the surrender form, we’ll get back to you about whether we can take the bird and what the timeline looks like.
There’s no fee to surrender — we’re a rescue, not a buyer or broker.
If that all sounds reasonable, the next step is the surrender form. It asks the basics about the bird and gives us what we need to start the conversation.
Questions before you fill anything out? Email robert@safeperchrescue.com and tell us a little about your bird.
